BANGKOK : A Thai court on Tuesday approved an arrest warrant for fugitive ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra on terrorism charges, which carry a maximum penalty of death, in connection with recent violent protests.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's government has accused Thaksin of inciting unrest and bankrolling the mass rallies by the opposition "Red Shirts", many of whom seek the return of the former telecoms tycoon.

Sony Xperia X10
Like many other key mobile phones announced this year, the Xperia X10 had its fair share of leaks from rumour mills. But the most telling was a conceptual user interface video on YouTube that showcased Sony Ericsson's custom software on the Android operating system.
Sony had tried to keep things under wraps for quite a while to build up suspense over its next range of mobile phones. The Japanese-Swedish firm finally made things official this afternoon. Its first Android smartphone is the Xperia X10. The handset runs on Android 1.6 (codenamed Donut) and packs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
Sony Xperia X10 features an 8.1-megapixel camera, music player, high-speed web access, Google Maps, and a touch-screen interface – will be the "flagship handset" in Sony Ericsson's 2010 range.
